Bonjour Babies!

I adore these kiddos to the core.
Spent a week with them in St. Barths.
Photographed their every move, and still couldn't seem to get enough.
I loved seeing the progress of their comfort with the camera.
I think I got the most honest portraits on the last day.

I've always been fascinated by how the camera effects the your actions and your actions effect the camera...even when there is no camera around.
As for me? I think in pictures.
But I am also acutely aware that I cannot substitute living in the moment, for living through the image.
Therefore I strive to photograph what is real. What is really happening, at least in my eyes. Don't freeze for me, don't pause. Live in the moment. And i'll make sure to freeze it forever.

Some interesting photographer/subject/camera relationships...

Cheers in Cherry Hill

Reunited with a friend from way back when.
She was pregnant and wanted to plan to have me come out and photograph the bris of her new baby boy, Tyler Jack.
It was a beautifully touching afternoon.
A crisp and sunny early spring day.
Life and love in the air.
Cheers to their new family of 5!

we're gettin married!!

so many fantastic things i want to post...its been a busy couple of weeks...but first things first..

Andrew & I are getting married!!!!!

He shocked and awed me when we were in St Barths last week! We were there photographing a family that I truly adore to the core (pictures from that shortly!!!) for the week...and he completely surprised me.

As a photographer who shoots weddings, I already am obsessed with wedding blogs, and everything wedding...now compounded by the fact that I am planning my own wedding, this is going to be quite a ride. No doubt a unique part of life that i want to savor and that i want to continue to focus on the reason for it all.

Big love to all!
More shortly.

Shrink Wrapped

I've had the privilege of working with Mark Gerald over the past couple years, helping him out on a photography project of his that he wanted some technical assistance on. He's a psychotherapist and he's been photographing other analysts in their offices, on their couches, etc....photographing around the world working on his project.

This weekend, he was in the NYTimes, a GORGEOUS full page in the Sunday Times, City Section, coinciding with his show that opened on Sunday also.
The opening was packed and he was just floating. I am so damn proud and excited for him. He is such a true, genuine and generous soul, (as is his wife Laini) and his motivation/ dedication is admirable and inspiring.
I feel like putting a bumper sticker on my car that says, Mark Gerald is an honor student.

new york in the sunny spring...
driving down the streets (here, chelsea, FDR), noticing what has changed, closed, opened, been renovated, collapsed, or just plain stayed the same.
