Dreaming in Pink

Wow. The cherry blossoms in New York were amazing! (I would say they still ARE amazing but its cold and wintery now and the they look different against a crisp blue sky than they do against the rainy grey!)

But last weekend, during the windows of sunlight, Olga, Roman, little Lawrence and I had a super gorgeous time in the park.
I photographed Olga and Roman at their wedding not so long ago...and it was ridiculously fun to catch up with them and see the cute little family they've created!

Lawrence was a little scared of me at first, but maybe its because my Russian (his first language) is how do you say, non-existant?! But after a few rounds of peek-a-boo, we were fast friends and the camera and i were the recipients of many toothless grins.

So great to see you guys! Cant wait until the next reunion.

2010 wedding season begins!

The first 3 months of this year were amazing. January we got married!, February was wedding recovery and honeymoon prep, and March was honeymoon! I feel pretty lucky that i was able to take all that time...they were literally once in a lifetime experiences!

But i'm super excited to be back... The best part of traveling for me is the people I meet. And I realized on this sunny crisp April Saturday that my job lets me continue to 'travel' with each wedding I'm lucky to be a part of. Its the people, its the stories. It happens in Kathmandu. And it happens in Yonkers.

Andrea and Jay had a small backyard affair with their closest family and friends. They are the most loving bunch it was incredible. It was inspiring just to be witness to the love that family has for each other. And to document their day was a privilege.

Oceans Away

I've been pulling images together of the kids in Nepal...putting together a collection to show potential spaces/galleries, to find a location for our show.

in the meantime, its been causing me to really miss the kids.

they have no phones there, no mail service, and very spotty email with Shiva or "Father," whose english is very limited. So, it leaves a bit of an emptiness wondering if the kids think we forgot about them, hoping they know we havent, and dreaming that their days are even happier now than they were then.

i was filming her just walking along the road...and she veered off, i thought she was going to dance in a puddle, but instead she gave me a flower....

One of my Besties Missed My Wedding....

because she was due to give birth that very weekend!!!

I called her an hour before I walked down the aisle and she was literally on her WAY to the hospital! Cue the tears!
It turned out to be a false alarm, but Keenan was born a few days later...

And last weekend in Austin, I had a chance to photograph the whole fam.
