Newborn Photography, 11 Days makes a Big Brother and a Little Sister

I met these guys when this big brother was only 12 days himself..and now at almost 3, he has a new little beautiful sister on the scene.

Shoots with a toddler and a newborn are verrrrry different than the zenlike shoots of a newborn alone. Ha! There is a lot to balance and mostly it's about this life change that has happened for the little toddler, once the only adorable one in the spotlight, having to share. It's no doubt confusing, scary, and exciting for them all at once. And more often than not, they'd rather be playing with any number of toys close by than holding their new itty bitty sibling...but when it happens, it's precious... in a kind of forever way.

Newborn Photography, 15 Days!

So remember that insanely joyful and beautiful couple that I photographed getting married in Vermont here and here, well, they are now plus 1!

And omg, she's like a little chicklet, freshly hatched, with the softest most beautiful tufts of white blonde hair in town. Seriously! She's a little Goldilocks! She couldn't wait to get this party started, coming a little less than 3 weeks early, and is as perfect as can be...smiling and sleeping throughout the shoot...she is a total dream.

Stefanie is a make up stylist with a line of her own, and I have no doubt one day soon, we may be seeing photos of her doing make up with this little package of love strapped on hanging with the girls in a perfect mommy-daughter outing.

So excited for you guys.

New York Baby Photography

This sweet little girl gave us a run for our money... you sometimes have to be ready to shoot pretty quickly upon arrival...! We started off calm and collected right at the beginning, followed by a loooong intermission of cries. But wrapped up with a finale of sweet sleeping and even some smiles...those moments make you forget there was ever even one little cry in the first place! There is nothing sweeter!

Newborn Photography, 18 Days!

Ahhh, how sweet is he!

I really adore my newborn shoots I have to say. I love the process... of meeting a family at the door for the first time, and then spending 3 super intimate hours together, during a pretty vulnerable time...freshly home from the hospital, probably haven't even seen many friends yets, sleep deprived, learning to navigate the life of and with a newborn...and then opening up your home to a stranger with a camera and lots of equipment...I am SO grateful for each and every shoot...and I leave feeling so cozy inside, knowing we together (trust me these shoots are not all me, thank you to the parents!) recorded a really, really special time together...so, thank you!

This shoot at 18 days was that exact process...and I have a huge smile on my face as I edit and remember it all...

p.s. I'm obsessed with mom Jennifer's eyes...omg!!

New York Family Photography with this Gorgeous Quartet!

I met these guys earlier this year in St. John when I was photographing Leigh + Roberto's amazing wedding...we clicked like that, and realized we were neighbors too! So I was super excited skip the taxi and roll myself and my gear to their place and see them as a whole crew at home. (on a World Cup Sunday too! Dad Philippe was a trooper trying to only run from the shoot to the game when there were large bursts of crowd screaming...!)

Mom Ana is an art director, and I know myself how hard it is to be on the other side, to let it go and be IN the moment and hence the image...but I thought you rocked it Ana...being very present, but we still got to reep the benefits of your attention to detail when you opted to iron the pillow cases during a little break. haha!!

And big sister is so hilarious..and wise!...I feel like it's only a matter of weeks before I could call her for a coffee date and we could meet and talk about the world.
